Job Description Temporary Staff Accountant

Classification

Non-exempt

Reports to

Accounting Manager

Staff Accountant

Responsible for assisting Accounting Team in various areas of accounting including, but not limited to, daily accounting general ledger entries, month end processes, internal company reporting, select accounting/financial research.

Essential Job Functions

• Reconcile daily all cash accounts, and participate in daily cash forecast update
• Enter accounts payable invoices and maintain vendor accounts
• Pay company vendors in accordance with management approval
• Participate in month-end close, review general ledger accounts, post journal entries, prepare reconciliations including accruals, job allocations, prepaid expenses, loan schedules and fixed assets.
• Perform monthly general ledger variance analysis and provide relevant explanations for fluctuations.
• Prepare weekly/monthly reporting to various management staff
• Assist with updating and maintaining accounting policies and procedures
• Assist with performing research of identified reporting and accounting issues
• Be assigned other special projects, including sales tax reporting, annual budgets, as required.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.

Education & Experience

• Associate's degree in either, Finance or related discipline
• 3-5 years of accounting experience in a business environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel application is highly desirable
• Highly detail-oriented and organized in completion of tasks
• Ability to meet assigned deadlines
• Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.
• Ability to act cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees and management, to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
• Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and filing cabinets.

• While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to type, file and lift office supplies up to 20 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full- time position. Days and hours of work are Monday thru Friday 8 am 5 pm. Overtime will be required in this position as work demands dictate.
