As a Medical Billing Representative, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely billing while assisting patients, providers, and insurance companies with any billing-related questions.
Schedule:
Full-time (40 hours per week)
Monday to Friday, between 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM
No nights or weekends
Hybrid remote work available after the initial training period
What You'll Do:
Answer billing-related inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and staff via phone and in-person.
Investigate, resolve, and follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
Process and verify patient demographic and insurance information.
Review, correct, and submit claims to insurance companies.
Manage claim denials, submit appeals, and follow up on outstanding insurance balances.
Assist patients with billing concerns, insurance benefits, co-pays, and outstanding balances.
Process credit card payments, refunds, and account adjustments.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies.
Collaborate with clinic staff and attend team meetings to stay informed on best practices.
What We're Looking For:
Required:
High school diploma or GED
At least 2 years of experience in medical insurance billing
Strong knowledge of revenue cycle processes and medical billing workflows
Experience with government and commercial insurance claims
Proficiency in using computers, including spreadsheets and databases
Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Preferred:
Previous experience in a medical business office
Familiarity with billing procedures, medical terminology, and CPT/ICD coding
Experience handling cash payments and processing refunds
Proficiency in Epic or similar electronic medical records systems
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive pay: $21.89 - $25.39 per hour
