Job Description Turner & Townsend are seeking a Superintendent with significant experience in the field overseeing contractors; committed to safety first, knowledge of design, construction, and operations; an understanding of owner representation and requirements; and detailed knowledge of scheduling, cost control, and project control techniques. The successful applicant will have a proven track record as an Oil & Gas Superintendent managing a Petrochemical, Refinery, Pipeline Construction and will be based onsite in Augusta, Georgia. The Oil & Gas Superintendent has typical responsibilities and duties which include, but are not limited to the following: Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day onsite activities of the project within Oil & Gas construction to ensure projects are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards. Understanding of field project principles, methods and techniques. Work collaboratively with site Safety leadership to support the application of principles and critical behaviors to develop a proactive Safety culture. Maintain openness, transparency and a continuing dialogue with colleagues and other stakeholders related to Safety systems, performance, and lessons learned. Establish and maintain a working relationship with the client, based on a commitment to industry leading customer service that results in complete customer satisfaction and future project opportunities. Conduct site visits to monitor the progress of construction, review status of work completed during the period covered, review that work is proceeding in a good and workmanlike manner and in general accordance with the approved drawings and specifications. Review of change orders and monthly reports Review Engineering and Contractor proposals for completeness, revise as necessary, and negotiate best contract. Review contract drawings and specifications for completeness and general compliance with commonly accepted engineering best practices. Conduct meetings with appropriate parties and prepare minutes. Review and make relevant comments concerning the terms of the construction agreement, the submitted subcontracts, architectural and engineering design agreements, as well as review both Contractor and Engineering qualification statements. Partner with the Client, Engineering, and Contractor, and assist with job specific procedures and adjust progress as necessary to insure timely completion of project. Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations to various audiences, including project team and key stakeholders. Prepare or assist in preparation of documents (schedules, invoices, RFI’s, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, inspections, closeout, client presentations) for design and construction and maintain information in project management software. Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation, and excellence. Responsible for ensuring all aspects of client services are delivered at the highest level to ensure the client’s needs are addressed. Qualifications Minimum 8 years of experience in construction in related Oil & Gas industry Bachelors’ Degree or related Construction Superintendent experience. Excellent written, verbal and analytic skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Understanding of contract documents, specifications, project plans, and all other project related documents. Highly motivated self-starter. Ability to multi-task and identify priority activities. Ability in various computer skills, including MS Office, MS Project, Bluebeam/Adobe, OneNote, construction project management software. Basic knowledge of construction estimation. Basic knowledge of the financial components that create payment applications, change orders, and other construction financial documents. Possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and identify priority activities. Self-directed and able to function with ease as part of a team and to effectively collaborate with internal and external resources.
