  • Develop and implement robust assembly verification and system validation tests to guarantee functionality and durability.
  • Writing requirements, functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
  • Embrace cradle-to-grave ownership of projects, taking responsibility from the initial concept and design phase through manufacturing, testing, and product lifecycle management.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach in identifying and addressing engineering challenges at every stage, fostering a sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Apply GD&T principles to communicate design intent, ensuring manufacturing and assembly processes adhere to specified tolerances and quality standards.
  • Analyze field performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement design modifications to enhance the overall reliability of robotic harvesting systems
  • Collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, ensuring smooth, efficient and scalable production processes.
  • Leveraging expertise in manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, Injection molding, and additive manufacturing, to enhance the production efficiency of robotic systems.

Necessary Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years of experience designing and developing robotic or mechatronic systems.

Needed Skills & Experience

  • Possess a deep understanding of electro-mechanical design principles, including structural and thermal analysis.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application to product design.
  • Expertise in the selection and seamless integration of motors, encoders, and sensors into robotic systems.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software, including advanced assemblies, complex configuration management, and best practices for part design.
  • Hands-on experience crafting functional prototypes and proof-of-concept models.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effectively conveying technical information and documentation.
  • Experience managing projects through their full lifecycle and meeting established milestones.
  • Ability to evaluate and analyze design tradeoffs for hardware systems and architectures.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Product Data Management (PDM) systems.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Proficiency with FEA and CFD tools.
  • Experience with Design for Excellence (DFX) principles.
  • Understanding of human-centered design and ergonomics.
