Summary /Objective

The Product Manager will directly contribute to the company's success as a liaison who leads and inspires the creation process of assigned swimwear lines. This position has the responsibility to partner with production, merchandising, design, and marketing to ensure all product details meet approved quality standards.

Position Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Key liaison with production, fabric and trim, patternmaking, design, merchandising, and marketing for assigned lines
• Ensures product details meet approved standards
• Maintains development charts and other status charts
• Liaison for overseas factories
• Creates and maintains spec sheets for all styles at all stages of the garments’ lifecycle (costing, samples, production)
• Communicating all information on assigned lines to factories, including sending spec sheets, patterns, and sew-by samples to factories and any changes/updates made during the process
• Approves samples and production approval garments in conjunction with the product development manager and designer
• Works with patternmaking and grading room to prepare graded tech packages for factories
• Attend fit meetings and communicate comments to the pattern maker.
• Assigning and maintaining style numbers in style master.
• Set up and maintain master templates for each assigned line per season
• Executing all sample lines, including special make-ups with factory by dates needed
• Work with quality control to maintain sewing and construction standards for garments

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Garment construction and fabric science knowledge: Knits/wovens, stretch fabrics, dyeing, finishing
• Experience with fitting garments and creating and revising specifications
• Must be computer literate in Excel, word, and email and able to take clear photos in fittings
• Detail-oriented, organized, and very good follow-up skills
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Sense of urgency and intuitive sense of priorities
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to multi-task
• Team player
• Strong work ethic
• Reliable, self-starter
• Swimwear/Activewear experience preferred. Will consider sportswear
• Strong working knowledge of tech packs
• Clear and thorough understanding of apparel product development and product cycle timelines

Education and Experience :

• 3+ years of experience in product management or production function in the women’s swimwear or intimate apparel manufacturing and sourcing environment
• Bachelor’s Degree, apparel/fashion-related discipline
