One of Insight Global's Food and Beverage Manufacturing clients is looking to hire an entry level IT finance associate position in Tampa for a 6 month contract. This person will assist with the purchasing process for various computer hardware, software, and consulting services. The contractor will play a key role in the creation and monitoring of purchase orders, working closely with the IT team to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of accruals, as well as ensuring that payments to vendors are processed efficiently. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of procurement, finance processes, and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities:
• Purchase Order Creation & Monitoring:
o Assist in the creation and management of purchase orders (POs) for IT-related hardware, software, and consulting services.
o Collaborate with Infrastructure team to ensure the accurate and timely submission of purchase orders, ensuring all necessary details are captured and aligned with budgetary guidelines.
o Monitor and track the status of purchase orders, resolving any issues related to delays or discrepancies.
• Accruals & Vendor Payments:
o Work closely with the IT department to ensure timely accruals for services and items received, ensuring that financial records accurately reflect transactions in accordance with accounting standards.
o Ensure the proper timing and accuracy of payments to vendors, minimizing payment delays or errors, and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers.
o Review vendor invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness before processing payments.
• Vendor & IT Collaboration:
o Act as a liaison between the IT function and vendors to facilitate smooth purchasing and payment processes.
o Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, invoice discrepancies, and other issues as needed.
o Assist in reconciling discrepancies between vendor invoices and purchase orders, ensuring timely resolutions.
• Financial Tracking & Reporting:
o Assist in tracking IT-related expenditures, ensuring that purchases align with budget forecasts and financial policies.
o Generate regular reports on purchasing activity, accruals, and vendor payments for IT management and financial teams.
o Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation related to purchasing and payments.
Required Qualifications:
-Recent graduate with an undergraduate degree in Finance or Accounting, a Junior/Senior level student pursuing their degree in Finance/Accounting, or relevant work experience.
-Intermediate finance and analytical skills
-Strong understanding of accruals, invoicing, and payment processing.
-Proficiency in financial and procurement software (SAP preferred)
-Competency in the MS Office Suite
-Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. -Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.
