Summary:

The Database Manager will oversee the day-to-day management, optimization, and strategic development of ASID’s Impexium Association Management System (AMS) and other database platforms within the organization’s technology infrastructure. This role ensures data integrity, enhances database performance, and provides training and support to staff. The Database Manager will lead efforts to develop reports, troubleshoot issues, and implement new features that align with organizational goals. This position is pivotal in ensuring that ASID’s databases effectively support membership management, accounting functions, and other operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Platform Management: Oversee the daily operation of the Impexium AMS, ensuring smooth functionality across membership management, accounting, dashboards, and reporting features.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, collaborating with internal teams and platform vendors.
• Relationship Management: Serve as the primary contact with AMS vendor to coordinate the resolution of issues and identify opportunities for efficiency and training within the system.
• Data Integrity and Security: Maintain high standards for data accuracy, security, and compliance with organizational policies and industry regulations.
• Reporting and Analytics: Develop, manage, and optimize reports and queries to provide actionable insights for staff and leadership.
• Training and Documentation: Train staff on database functionalities, create user-friendly documentation, and promote best practices for database usage.
• System Optimization: Identify opportunities to enhance database performance and scalability, including evaluating and implementing new features or integrations.
• Cross-Platform Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure seamless integration and data flow between Impexium and other ASID technology platforms.
• Strategic Development: Contribute to long-term planning for database infrastructure, supporting future growth and innovation within ASID’s tech ecosystem.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong proficiency in database management systems, with at least one year of direct experience in Impexium within the last two years.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in report-building tools.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to train and support non-technical staff.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and security.
• Familiarity with membership management and accounting processes within association environments is a plus.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Minimum of three years of experience managing database systems, with a preference for candidates with AMS experience, and further increased preference for those with previous Impexium use.
• Experience with report creation, troubleshooting, and database optimization.
• Familiarity with integrating databases across multiple platforms and systems.
